Agarwal Packers And Movers (Bade Bhaiya — DRS Group)- How Are They Still In Business?
When a company loses its integrity, operating responsibility, and denies service to customers to their satisfaction, it's bound to perish. And I am sure, the day will come for Bade Bhaiya too. Now, it's just a matter of when it will occur.
Unfortunately, the company still has a big name, with colossal money spent on marketing and bought reviews, helping them continue trapping new customers’ business. However, if one prefers to diligently profile a company first before giving them their business, there are a lot of bad experiences & reviews available online:
One can clearly see their performance here has drastically degraded just within a year. Even though their overall recommendation is at 70% (as of Aug 2022), year wise it fell from 88% to 13% in 2022 compared to 2021. And START rating fell from 4+ to 2.27 STAR within a year.

As you can see the frustration among the customers and their unaddressed grievances are ever-growing. It's good in a way that people are vocal about it and sharing it with the community, so others can be saved from the disaster. Hence, the reason for me to write this blog and spread the footprint to one more platform, where consumers can see this and share their experiences by either creating their own stories or replying in the comment section.
Here is my story with Bade Bhaiya DRS group:
Re: Goods Consignment# 4750001, Goods Pickup Date: 20th Jun 2021, Goods Delivery Date: 11 July 2021, Kolkata To Nagpur.
I used their service to help my parents, living in India, to transport their furniture & misc goods from Kolkata to Nagpur. Initially, their quotation was 48K excluding insurance to transport our consignment. I then inquired with small local transport businesses and received quotations between Rs. 25K to 35K. Based on the price difference & great reviews of some local businesses, I was almost finalizing the deal with one, until suddenly, an Agarwal salesperson intervenes and offered to do the price match. Now their quotation is dropped to Rs. 33K with insurance included. That should have raised a red flag, but Nah! seeing their great (fake) reviews online, I chose BADE BHAIYA over local businesses. Once the deal was set, payment fulfilled online, the real agony starts:
a. Packing Guys aka Professionals, who came for pickup were very rude & talking mean to my old parents. (Note: They are in their 60s & live alone)
b. We were promised delivery within 10 days of pick up, but we received items on the 22nd day. Talking to their customer service for delivery updates was a real pain, and made me regret my decision right there. Here is why:
- Phone service is pathetic, with frequent disconnection & lot of noise/static. Felt like calling in a dated government office.
- Getting hold of them either through a direct phone# or through a toll-free# was not an easy deal, lines were always busy.
- Don’t expect very rational or polite conversation. I would prefer to talk to a Govt employee over them.
- I was always given the inaccurate status of the consignment until it just arrived.
c. Not a single item got delivered without damage.
- All the furniture & big items suffered mishandling, chipping, cracks, water damage, paint peel, dents, missing body parts, etc.
- All the cartons were wet & damaged, causing all misc items inside to suffer rot, water damage, discoloration, physical dents, etc. Their packaging is AWFUL.
- All the wooden furniture now has paint/finish peeled off & a lot of residue glue at multiple spots from their packaging tape. Who sticks packaging tape directly on the wood?
- Net summary, all the delivered items are just trash now, looks like an eyesore, and the total loss is worth Rs. 2–3 lakhs.
d. After two weeks of relentless efforts & follow-ups with their team over email and phone, trying to have them repair what is fixable and process insurance claims for non-salvageable items, I realized it's useless and I am at a complete loss when I couldn’t even get them to open an official claim case#. Nobody ever followed up from their side and me trying to get hold of them or talk to them was real stress.
e. At last after a month, I registered a complaint (docket/grievance #2855492) with NCH (National Consumer Helpline https://consumerhelpline.gov.in). NCH tried to follow up with Bade Bhaiya for two weeks over multiple email correspondences, but Bade Bhaiya never responded, I should have known better. Finally, NCH disposed of the case and advised me to file a case with the local Consumer Commission through https://edaakhil.nic.in.
f. Most of the proceedings with edaakhil will require a physical presence in the city/state/country, whereas I live out of India and I won’t cause more inconvenience to my parents. Therefore, for not having the resources or energy to keep pursuing an immoral ghost company, this is where I called it off. Spreading the word is my only power left, so here I am telling my story. One day, I might even consider making a youtube video about it.
g. Pictures Of Damaged Items:
This was not the pain in the arse I signed up for. Not only this business has no integrity but customer service is at a complete loss. This was my first & last experience with the DRS group and it left me hopeless & speechless. The unanswered question left in my mind is not whether I will use their service again or will I ever recommend them to anyone, but how are they still in business?
